Description

2 Paisa Copper Coin | Jhalawar Princely State (1858 CE)
This 2 Paisa (Double Paisa) coin was issued by the Princely State of Jhalawar during Vikram Samvat 1915, corresponding to 1858 CE, at the very start of the British Raj. It is made of copper, weighs 18 grams, and has an irregular square shape with a compact size of 19 mm.

What makes this coin striking is its inscription on the obverse—“Victoria fadash Inglistan”—meaning Victoria, Empress of England, written in Persian script. This is a remarkable blend of Indian and British coinage traditions from the princely states.

This coin offers collectors a tangible piece of mid-19th century history, combining native design with colonial-era political shifts. A bold, square treasure for any serious collection of Indian princely state coins.
