Description

The 50 Roubles banknote was issued in 2000 by the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus as part of the country’s second rouble currency series. It circulated during the early years of Belarus’s independent monetary system and remained in use until its demonetization in 2016.

The obverse features the Kholmsk Gate (Chotmsk Gate), a prominent fragment of the Brest Hero-Fortress Memorial complex. The design includes decorative patterns, the denomination and inscriptions in Belarusian Cyrillic, highlighting the country’s historical heritage and national identity.

The reverse presents architectural imagery associated with the Brest Hero-Fortress, along with ornamental designs and the denomination. Its connection to one of Belarus’s most significant historical memorials makes this banknote a meaningful addition for collectors of Eastern European and world currency.
