Description

Issued in 1944 during the reign of Maharaja Man Singh II, this brass 1 Anna belongs to the later coinage series of the Jaipur princely state under British India. Struck in a milled round format and weighing approximately 3.7 grams, the coin reflects the transition from traditional hammered coinage to modern machine-struck state issues.

The obverse displays a right-facing bust of Maharaja Man Singh II surrounded by Devanagari legends reading “Maharajadhiraj Sawai Mansingh,” with the traditional Jaipur emblem placed below the portrait.

The reverse features the iconic Jaipur “Jhar” symbol within a circular arrangement, dividing the date, along with inscriptions in Persian and Devanagari denoting the denomination “Ek Anna.”
