Issued between circa 1538–1545 CE during the reign of Sher Shah Suri, this copper Paisa belongs to the coinage of the Sur Empire. Sher Shah is renowned for introducing major administrative and monetary reforms, including a standardized currency system that influenced Indian coinage for centuries. Struck on an irregular round flan and weighing approximately 20.5 grams, this coin reflects the robust copper currency used in everyday circulation.
