Description
This 1 Tyiyn banknote was issued in 1993 as part of Kyrgyzstan’s first national currency series following independence from the Soviet Union in 1991. The introduction of the Som and its subdivisions marked an important milestone in establishing the country’s economic sovereignty and national identity.
The obverse features a Golden Eagle, a symbol deeply associated with the culture, traditions, and nomadic heritage of Central Asia. The design incorporates elegant ornamental patterns and inscriptions in Cyrillic script, reflecting the nation’s unique cultural character during its formative post-independence years.
The reverse displays traditional Kyrgyz decorative motifs surrounding the Tündük, the symbolic crown of a yurt and a prominent emblem of Kyrgyz identity. In UNC condition, the note retains crisp original paper, vibrant colours, and sharp printing details, making it a desirable addition to collections of world banknotes and former Soviet republic currency issues.
