Issued by the Bank of Korea between 1983 and 2006, this 10 Won coin is struck in brass (65% copper, 35% zinc), weighing 4.06 grams with a diameter of 22.86 mm. It was introduced as a standard circulation coin and remains one of South Korea’s most recognizable modern issues.

The obverse features the famous Dabotap Pagoda at Bulguksa Temple in Gyeongju, one of South Korea’s National Treasures, with the denomination written in Hangul on either side of the monument.

The reverse displays the large “10” denomination with the year of issue above and the Bank of Korea inscription in Hangul below, framed by a neat beaded border that complements the simple yet elegant design.
