Description

The 100 Roubles banknote issued in 1994 by the National Bank of the Republic of Tajikistan is an important piece of early monetary history from Tajikistan following the dissolution of the Soviet Union.

Printed on paper and measuring approximately 120 × 60 mm, this banknote belongs to the first series of national currency used before the introduction of the Tajik somoni. The obverse side features the national emblem of Tajikistan along with intricate ornamental patterns, symbolizing national identity and independence. The inscriptions are written in Cyrillic script, reflecting the linguistic and historical influence of the region.

The reverse side displays a government building along with the denomination prominently shown, emphasizing the authority of the issuing state. The note carries the denomination of 100 roubles and includes official text identifying the issuing authority.

This banknote was part of the Tajik rouble system used between 1995 and 2000 and has since been demonetized. Today, it is valued primarily as a collectible item, especially for numismatists interested in post-Soviet currencies and transitional economic periods.
