Description

A historically significant 2 Taka banknote from Bangladesh, issued by Bangladesh Bank during the 2011–2024 period. The note combines important national monuments with the portrait of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, widely regarded in Bangladesh as the Father of the Nation.

The obverse features a portrait of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman (1920–1975) alongside the Jatiyo Smriti Soudho (National Martyrs’ Memorial) in Savar, a major national monument commemorating those who died during the Bangladesh Liberation War.

The reverse depicts the Shaheed Minar Monument in Dhaka, established to commemorate those who lost their lives during the Bengali Language Movement of 1952. The design is complemented by decorative star-shaped floral elements and Bangladesh’s distinctive Bengali script.
