Description
A distinctive 20 Naira banknote from Nigeria, issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria and printed on durable polymer. This issue celebrates two important Nigerian figures while incorporating national symbols and cultural heritage into its design.
The obverse features a portrait of General Murtala R. Mohammed (1938–1976), a former Nigerian military leader and head of state, alongside the emblem of the Central Bank of Nigeria. The denomination and national design elements complete the modern polymer note.
The reverse honours Ladi Kwali, one of Nigeria’s most renowned traditional potters. Her portrait is accompanied by imagery representing pottery and traditional craftsmanship, while the outline of Nigeria appears in the colours of the national flag.
The note also incorporates a Central Bank of Nigeria “CBN” watermark/security feature, adding to its distinctive design.
