Description
This 200 Syrian Pounds banknote was issued by the Central Bank of Syria in 2009 and forms part of the modern Syrian currency series. The note celebrates important historical monuments and engineering achievements that have become enduring symbols of Syrian civilization and cultural identity.
The obverse features the renowned Norias of Hama, the giant water wheels that once irrigated the surrounding region along the Orontes River.
