Description
This 25 Centavos banknote was issued by the Central Bank of Nicaragua in 1991 as part of the newly introduced Third Córdoba Oro series. The issue represented an important monetary reform aimed at stabilizing the nation’s currency and restoring confidence following a period of economic challenges and inflation.
The obverse features a portrait of Francisco Hernández de Córdoba, the Spanish conquistador credited with founding several major cities in Nicaragua. The design includes intricate security patterns, the denomination, and official inscriptions of the Banco Central de Nicaragua, all executed in attractive blue-toned colors.
The reverse displays Nicaragua’s national coat of arms along with the Sacuanjoche, the country’s national flower, symbolizing national identity and heritage. In UNC condition, the note retains crisp paper, vibrant colours, and sharp original details, making it a desirable collectible for both Latin American and world paper money enthusiasts.
