Description
A striking 5 Ngultrum banknote from Bhutan, issued by the Royal Monetary Authority of Bhutan during the reign of King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck. Dating from the 2006–2015 issue period, this note beautifully combines Bhutanese religious symbolism, mythology, and architecture.
The obverse features a Dharma Chakra at the centre accompanied by Bja Tshering, mythical birds associated with longevity and long life. The intricate Bhutanese motifs and traditional design elements give the note a distinctly cultural character.
The reverse showcases Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest), one of Bhutan’s most famous landmarks and an iconic symbol of the country’s spiritual and architectural heritage.
