Description

This 9-note set was introduced following Mongolia’s 1992 Constitution and currency redesign, with the new banknotes beginning circulation in 1993. The series represented the modern monetary identity of Mongolia and included denominations from small Möngö units through 100 Tögrög. 

The higher denominations feature D. Sukhbaatar, a major figure in Mongolia’s revolutionary history, while the notes incorporate the Soyombo symbol, traditional Mongolian decorative patterns and national imagery. The 1 Tögrög note has a distinctive lion design, making it visually different from the other denominations. 

The set also includes the smaller Möngö denominations, completing a representative range of Mongolia’s 1993 currency series. With nine different denominations, varied colors, traditional symbolism and historical significance, this is an attractive complete-style starter set for collectors of Mongolian and world banknotes.
